Completely Recreate Your Smile
If you’re looking for comprehensive tooth replacement on a fast timeframe, All-on-4 is an excellent option. This technique is designed to restore an entire arch of teeth, and we’ll use just four implants (sometimes six in special cases) to anchor the new prosthetic in place, which makes this option more affordable too. We can even complete both the implant placement and the placement of an initial prosthetic during the same appointment! All the patient will need to do is return after some time has passed so that we can provide them with a better-fitting denture after their mouth has healed from the surgical procedure. What is an All-on-4 Implant Denture?
An All-on-4 implant denture is a unique dental implant tooth replacement method that utilizes the naturally denser portions of the jaw to support the denture. This is possible due to the unique way the implant posts are positioned. The All-on-4 method has made it possible for more people than ever before to receive an implant-retained denture.
Who Should Consider All-on-4?
Because All-on-4 utilizes the densest parts of the jaw, it’s less likely that people will need a bone or soft tissue graft prior to treatment, so almost any patient can be a candidate for All-on-4. The ideal candidate for this denture option will meet all of the following qualifications:
- Fully edentulous (without teeth)
- In relatively good oral and overall health
- No past negative experience during surgery or anesthesia
- Have completed a medication review prior to beginning treatment
What is the All-on-4 Process Like?
Like the traditional dental implant process, we’ll need to begin by preparing your smile and planning the treatment. Then, we place the dental implant posts. This procedure is what sets All-on-4 implants apart. We place two implants vertically into the front of the jawbone. Then, two implants are placed diagonally from the back of the jaw into the front. This allows us to anchor an entire denture, using just four dental implants. On the day we place the implants, we’ll attach a temporary denture. Then, once your implant posts have fully healed, we’ll attach the final restoration.
How do I Care for my All-on-4 Implant Denture?
Once in place, your All-on-4 denture will look and feel much like your healthy, natural smile. You can brush these new teeth gently using soft bristled toothbrushes and minimally abrasive toothpastes, and you should brush at least two minutes at a time twice a day. For the best results, you may want to brush or rinse out your mouth between meals. You can also utilize an air or water flosser to remove plaque buildup between the denture base and gum tissue. Every six months, you should visit our office for a dental exam and teeth cleaning. We’ll check the fit and function of your smile to ensure it remains healthy and functional as long as possible. With proper care, your All-on-4 denture should last for two or more decades.
